Seniors: Did you know you get TWO college visit days this year that don’t count against your absence record? It’s time to start thinking about visiting schools that interest you. ALSO, there is no school scheduled for October 16 & 17th. This would be an EXCELLENT time for you to consider a campus visit. MSU-Bozeman has an MSU Friday program on Friday, October 17th. Stop by my office for information. (PALMER)

The New Horizons Learning Center Strategy team will be meeting during 1st & 2nd lunch on Thursday, September 11th in the library. (S. KELSEY)

Any student who will be 18 by the November Presidential election and wishes to vote, please see Mr. Smith in order to register. You have 1 month prior to the election to be placed on the registration rolls. Over 95% of our senior class has been registered to vote over the years, so let’s take a few minutes to come in. I’ll assist you and get your registration card to Libby for you. (T. SMITH)

All Juniors will take the ASVAB on the morning of Wednesday, September 17th. It will take most of 1st & 2nd block. The ASVAB is a career interest inventory using the Self Directed Search questionnaire pioneered by Dr. James Holland. Incorporated with the other elements of the ASVAB, this activity creates the basis for career exploration that is more focused and as involved as you choose to make it. In other words, the more effort you put into it, the better the results you can expect. Teacher and Juniors should mark their calendars. (PALMER)

SENIORS: Friday, September 19th, is the deadline for registering for the October 25th ACT. This test is offered in Libby or Noxon. There is no athletic conflict with that date, although there is a home volleyball match that afternoon/evening. The Act test would be finished by lunch. You are STRONGLY encouraged to take this test if you are considering going to college next year, as you will have the opportunity to both see your scores and determine if you’d like to retest (if the results are lower that you need.) ALSO: if you qualify for free or reduced hot lunch, you can take the ACT TWICE this year for free! See Mr. Palmer for registration and practice test materials. (PALMER)
